CLOSED CELL
R-VALUE
Closed Cell R-Value is typically in the range of R-6.5 to R-6.8 per inch.
Low moisture vapor permeability. Meaning it takes a lot of pressure to squeeze fluid through the material.
THE BENEFITS
Closed-cell foam is impervious to water, meaning it does not let water pass through making it useful for common insulation applications such as wall cavities, but also for applications with exposure to the outdoor environment where water is a constant threat. It is also dense enough to insulate against air movement, preventing drafts and keeping in regulated temperatures. This density also prevents mold growth because temperature control can cut down on humidity, which spawns mold. In order to maintain their resistance, closed-cell foam is usually dense and strong, and resemble solids when it fully forms.
STRUCTURAL STRENGTH
Research conducted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) states walls installed with closed-cell spray foam have a racking strength up to 200-300% greater than walls without it.
WHAT WE RECOMMEND
We usually recommend 1-2 inches to be applied. Anything exceeding 3 inches is considered excessive and too costly.
Recommended Use: Metal buildings, containers, storage units, wine rooms.
